A Note from SUIFU, Looking Back on 2025

A Note from SUIFU, Looking Back on 2025

In 2025, we launched our brand, SUIFU.

One of our co-founders, Sho, studied culinary arts at a university in Canada. After gaining experience in various types of restaurants, he returned to Japan and began working at a Japanese restaurant.

Through his daily practice of cooking, he was once again drawn to the beauty and functionality of Japanese knives. “I want more people outside of Japan to know how good these tools are, and to actually use them in their own kitchens.” With this feeling at the core, we began our journey as SUIFU.

Through Japanese knives and tableware, we hope people can experience Japanese culture and aesthetics not as something special or distant, but as part of their everyday time spent cooking. While working with their hands, we want them to quietly sense the value of Japan’s history and craftsmanship. As the first step toward that experience, we chose the Nakiri knife as our very first product.

On Kickstarter, we launched our first original product, the Nakiri knife, and received support from many people. We are deeply grateful to everyone who believed in and supported a brand they had never encountered before.

The Nakiri knife is scheduled to be delivered in March 2026. We truly appreciate your patience, and we are taking great care to ensure that the time spent until completion becomes part of the value of a knife you will cherish for many years.

Looking back, 2025 was a year of trial and error, a year in which what truly matters to us became clearer, and our ideas slowly began to take shape. In 2026, we will continue to dedicate ourselves to creating products and a brand that can be used and loved for a long time by many people.

Thank you for your continued support in the coming year.
