Description

This plate is crafted using Charakake, a traditional Tokoname technique where a liquid clay slip is applied to the surface. This method produces a soft, matte texture, giving the piece a gentle and refined finish.

Finely crushed seashells are sprinkled over the surface before firing, creating subtle, natural patterns reminiscent of marine motifs. The white ceramic is beautifully accented by these shell patterns, giving the plate a sophisticated and elegant appearance.

Tokoname ware, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, is celebrated for its timeless craftsmanship and elegant simplicity.
